NRG Energy Center Harrisburg

NRG Energy Center Harrisburg provides energy-efficient and environmentally sound district heating for buildings in a 1-square-mile area of Harrisburg, Pa.’s, central business district, which includes the Capitol Complex.

NRG Harrisburg generates and distributes steam for use in space heating, domestic hot water heating, humidification and industrial processes. It serves approximately 150 downtown customers totaling 10 million square feet of space.

NRG Energy Center Harrisburg is a wholly owned subsidiary of NRG Thermal, an NRG Energy Inc. company, and is a public utility regulated by the Pennsylvania Public Utilities Commission.
